BiographyAllison Bradshaw Ledesma came to the Stanford Performance Training Staff in the Winter of 2014. Ledesma oversees all aspects of performance training for Track and Field. Prior to working at Stanford, Ledesma was the director of strength and conditioning at Hofstra University and oversaw the strength and conditioning programs for the 17 varsity athletic teams. Ledesma was directly responsible for designing and implementing the year-round strength and conditioning programs for women's basketball, field hockey, women's soccer, men's and women's cross-country, and men's and women's golf.
Prior to Hofstra, Ledesma spent one year at the University of Florida assisting with the strength and conditioning with the volleyball, men's and women's track and field, and men's and women's swimming and diving. Ledesma received her Masters of Science Degree at Springfield College where she started her strength and conditioning career as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach. She designed and supervised the strength and conditioning programs for the football, men's track and field, women's track and field throwing events, women's cross-country, field hockey, and women's lacrosse teams. While at Springfield Ledesma was also the assistant track and field throwing events coach and taught undergraduate courses in physical education.
Ledesma has also served as a strength and conditioning intern at Louisiana State University working with women's basketball and football, and at Team Bath England working with Team Bath track and field and Team Great Britain track and field, bobsled, and skeleton.
Ledesma completed her bachelor's degree at Clemson University and competed as four-year scholar athlete on the women's track and field team in the throwing events. In 2006 she received the National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American Athlete of the Year award.
Ledesma currently competes nationally in Olympic weightlifting and has also competed in the American Strongest Women Competitions and in powerlifting. Ledesma holds AAU American Records in the 181 Raw Open weightclass for the back squat and powerlifting total. Ledesma holds the National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification and USA Track and Field Level 1 Coach certification.
